Maryann Erickson is our Artist of the Month for January. Her painting is now hanging in the foyer of Deltona City Hall. Maryann named her painting “Visitors of Blue Springs”, because she lives so close to Blue Springs Park and the winter brings in many manatees.
Mrs. Erickson was born in the state of Massachusetts. Her family lived at the base in Homestead for many years, and then the final 15 months was at Pease Air Force Base and now retired military. Maryann and her husband have one son.
Maryann was a career teacher and then worked in Solar sales. Then... her friend gave her a paid art lessons with artist Gary Jenkins. That was over 20 years ago but she still loves painting and has been with the Deltona Art Club for 2 years. She was introduced to the art club by Katie Warner who she got to know playing folk music which is another of Maryann's talents! For Maryann... art, weaving, quilting, and the love for animals are some of many great fun things in life.
